Still working on your holiday shopping? Here are just some ideas for stocking stuffers and…
This past Sunday we paired up with our friends at the Albany County District Attorney’s Office for the 7th annual Building Communities Youth Art Contest.
The contest was open to middle and high school students enrolled in any school throughout Albany County. The participants were challenged to create a piece of art that reflects the beauty in their community, and the areas in their life for which they are grateful for, which may include nature, relationships, and positive opportunities they’ve been given.
All artwork will be in display through the month of May at The Barn. Once taken down from The Barn, the winning artwork will be on display at the Office of the Albany County District Attorney’s Community Justice Outreach Center, a community space located at 155 Clinton Ave., Albany and open to the public Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The Community Justice Outreach Center links the Albany County community with the Office of the Albany County District Attorney, by providing community based alternative to incarceration initiatives, community outreach and crime prevention/reduction programming. The Community Justice Outreach Center also provides the public with the space and resources for employment, educational, and community oriented needs.
Congratulations to all of the winners and a big thank you to all of the talented kids who submitted their work!
