On Friday, September 7th, 2012, Albany Barn will hold an opening reception for the 8th Annual “Summer In The City” Youth Talent Exhibition from 5:00pm – 9:00pm at Stage 1, Albany Barn’s storefront art space, located at 46 North Swan Street.
The opening reception will be held in conjunction with the monthly “1st Friday” arts walk and the 1st Friday Trolley will provide complimentary transportation to and from Stage 1. Child-friendly refreshments will be available. Admission is free.
“Summer In The City”annually celebrates the accomplishments of young people in Arbor Hill and other downtown neighborhoods, showcasing performing arts, multimedia, poetry, cultural knowledge projects, and more created in programs during the preceding summer (and year).
Groups participating in this year’s exhibition include: Arbor Hill Community Center, Arts Center of the Capital Region, Trinity Alliance Summer Program in collaboration with Black Dimensions in Art, Emmaus Methodist Church, Grand Street Community Arts, The College of St. Rose in partnership with Equinox, Art Partners/Tsehaya & Company Inc., and Ten Broeck Archeological Field School/Hartgen Archeological Associates.
“Summer In The City” is made possible by Arlene’s Artist Materials, Subway, and Honest Weight Food Co-op. The exhibition will remain on view throughout the month of September.
