Albany Barn would like to thank the seniors from Green Tech Charter High School for stopping by Stage 1 to help us repair our walls!
Seniors Malcolm Roland-McBride,Taesean Goodwin, Christopher Innerarity, Jamal Johnson, Shaquille Kelly, and teacher Teresa Prisco came to Stage 1 on Wednesday, October 17th to give us a much needed hand in restoring our gallery walls, after a year of exhibitions.
These seniors, and thier teacher, took time to participate in Green Tech’s Service Learning Day. This year students lent a hand to several local organizations, including Albany Barn, First Israel AME Church and the Stephen and Harriet Meyers House.
Green Tech High School emphasizes the importance of service learning and believes that, “service-based learning is all about providing students with real world experiences to teach classroom concepts. It then goes a step further by aiming to help students use the tools they have acquired in the classroom to make immediate and long term change in the areas that surround them.”
We appreciate the dedication to community which these individuals have shown, and our gallery looks like new! They did a fantastic job, and we hope that they continue with their committment to serving their community. Thank you again!
