Sculptures at Stage 1!

ALBANY, NY – Albany Barn, Inc. will present “Sculptures at Stage 1” on Friday, January 3rd, 2014, at Stage 1, Albany Barn’s headquarters and community art space located at 46-48 North Swan Street. A reception will be held from 5:00pm – 9:00pm in conjunction with the monthly “1st Friday” arts walk in the City of Albany. Light refreshments will be served. The artwork will be on display throughout the month of January. Admission is free.

 “Sculptures at Stage 1” displays sculptures produced by Ed O’Connell, Dorothea Osborn, Kimberly Dolan, and Steven Kroeger.

 About the artists/artist statements:

Kimberly Dolan was born and raised in Albany and has always been interested in the arts. Kim has studied with artists both locally and other parts of the US. A concentration in jewelry design emerged in 2004; her work includes many pieces utilizing metal clay inspired by both the city and the mountains of Albany which points north. Dolans work can be found at the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, NY as well as a variety of shows throughout the year. In 2014, Kim will be offering showings by appointment at The Barn.

Other artists include Ed O’Connell, Dorothea Osborn, and Steven Kroeger.

About 1st Friday

Administered by the Upstate Artists Guild, Albany’s 1st Friday arts walks aim to introduce a wider audience to the unique vitality of the artists and venues in the city. 1st Friday promotes interest in the arts by making art accessible and strengthening the community in Albany.
