Albany Barn
Albany Barn, the Albany Housing Authority and the City of Albany partnered to redevelop the former St. Joseph’s Academy, an abandoned school in the heart of Albany’s Arbor Hill neighborhood into 22 low-cost live/work residences, and 13,500+ square feet of multi-tenant creative arts incubator, enterprise and program space called The Barn.
Within The Barn, the 2,200 square foot multi-use facility features:
- Large performance stage with backstage wings & greenroom for all your performance needs
- Black vinyl moveable chairs to accommodate any set up you can imagine
- large bathrooms to meet your guest’s needs
- free WiFi Internet access to stream & connect away from home
- electricity, hot water, central air and heat included to keep you comfortable
- upper level meeting space with large conference table for breakaway sessions
- theatrical lighting (for an additional cost) to highlight & elevate your art form
Electric City Barn (ECB)
Electric City Barn is an innovative hub where emerging makers and community members collaborate on projects that bolster the creative economy and provide meaningful skill-building opportunities for local residents – a place where creativity works.
Within Electric City Barn, the 9,000+ sq. ft. space is separated into studios specialized to meet the technical needs, along with these rentable space features:

- Black & gold cushioned moveable chairs to accommodate any set up you can imagine
- electricity, hot water, central air and heat included to keep you comfortable
- bathrooms to meet your guest’s needs
- stage, perfect for rehearsals

Artistry Studios
Located at 826 1/2 Eastern Avenue in Schenectady & built in 1892, what was once a Convent is now a beautifully renovated artist space consisting of 21 work-only studios and several common gathering spaces. With huge windows, tons of natural light, and beautifully refinished hardwood floors, the spaces within The Artistry Studios are perfect for creatives that are looking for private work studios to grow their craft into their career.
Within Artistry Studios, the space is separated into studios, along with these rentable space features:
