Farewell: Opening Reception @ Albany Barn

Join us in celebrating our long term tenant Royal. Some words from Royal:

Approximately 6 years ago. I walked in off the street and volunteered my time to the Albany Barn.
I cleaned up tried to build or fix things as needed and generally just did a few simple things
Soon that turned into a part time job.  Something I needed as I rebuilt my life following a few years of active suicidal addiction.
This job eventually led to getting a studio where I began to create these Angelic Star Dragons and other creations, both 2D and 3D.
Fast forward through shows here at the Barn called Messengers and Messages.  A return to my career as a therapist and a residency at Salem Art Works.
I reconnected with Black Dimensions in Art and was accepted into the Critical Forum through the Arts Center of the Capitol Region.  A few shows here and there with Saratoga Arts and the Albany center gallery began to fuel this budding art career.
So now I’m saying bye bye the the place that was the soil where I germinated and grew.  I am now a clinical supervisor in one career and for the first time in my life. Being recognized as a true artist.
It is the end of the beginning. This show is meant to be a thank you and good bye party to all the memories of the Albany Barn. It is also a send off as this spiritual, artistic, and clinical journey continues.
And yea, there’s much more to come.
