I grew up surrounded by The Rocky Mountains in Salt Lake City until I was 14 and moved to the East Coast. In my early 20’s I became interested in interior design and decided to enroll in the fine arts program at Hudson Valley Community College to learn the fundamentals of art. I was new to the art world at this time and was unsure of my abilities and what I was capable of. As the years grew so did my love for art and I would find a deep connection not just to the art, but also to myself and the freedom it gave me. I went on to complete my Associate’s degree in fine arts from HVCC and stayed an additional year for the advanced study program, where I was able to develop my own body of work. After HVCC, I transferred to Russell Sage where I earned my BFA in spatial and interior design. I am currently an Architectural Designer at C2 Design Group and work on a variety of commercial projects around the Capital Region.
My work explores captured climactic moments and focuses on why these images enhance the human experience. I use charcoal to create high contrast, black and white images. My intention is to put more emphasis on the subject in the specific moment in time the image was captured, and eliminate any distraction, bias, or other effect color may cause.
