Position: Site Director, Albany Barn
Status: Full time (40 hrs/week), non-exempt
Compensation: $20/hr + annual full access membership to Albany Barn & Electric City Barn
Schedule: Will vary based on need of organization-flexibility w/ night and weekend availability required
Reports to: Executive Director

Summary:
The Site Director will be responsible for artist and maker residencies, ensuring spaces are utilized at full capacity and that artists & makers are nurtured through the cultivation of professional and artistic development opportunities. The Site Director is also responsible for creating and maintaining impactful creative-arts based programming and assisting in budget and resource development, all to strengthen the organization’s mission.  The Site Director will oversee the calendar maintenance and management of Albany Barn’s internally-produced programming & visual art exhibitions, as well as the work-only studio tenants and residential live/work tenants.  The Site Director will also manage the social media outreach for the areas of focus listed above.  The Site Director will primarily work out of Albany Barn, but occasional travel to Electric City Barn in Schenectady will be required.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong connection to the Capital Region Creative Economy & to the mission of Albany Barn Inc.  They will have a passion for collaboration and teamwork, along with exceptional communication, project management, and customer service skills.  An Associates Degree or higher + 2 years experience in an administrative setting OR 4 + years experience in an administrative setting strongly preferred; bonus points if experience is in the Arts Administration and/or non-profit field.  Supervisory experience a plus.  A basic understanding of WordPress, as well as email marketing and social media platforms, is a plus.  

Overview of Responsibilities:
-Maintain and utilize working knowledge of relevant developments and trends, i.e creative place making, regional arts initiatives, city and neighborhood issues, etc.  Support overall fields in which the organizations work.
-Work collaboratively with ED in seeking grant opportunities & developing/submitting proposals and requests
-Assist ED in building and implementing novel, mission appropriate revenue streams & budget management
-Manage artist selection process for both work-only studio tenants and live/work residency program, including marketing for filling vacant spaces, lease executions, & communication with artists on waiting list to ensure all questions are answered
-Support resource development activities for general operating and program-specific funding including researching small-scale programmatic grants & seeking sponsorship when appropriate
-Ensure all areas of Albany Barn and Stage 1 are fully operational and consistently engaging community members and artists in revenue-generating ways, including but not limited to The Barn’s Membership Program & Artist Incubator Program, co-working & studio spaces, and event/performance spaces
-Direct the creation and scheduling of content for websites and social media platforms to maximize reach
-Develop metrics and consistently evaluate program outcomes and budget performance related to recurring programming, support services, and short-term visiting artists programs to make necessary refinements, including modification and dismantling, if applicable
-Other duties as assigned


Position: Events Coordinator, Albany Barn
Status: Part time (20 hrs/week), non-exempt
Compensation: $14-$17/hour based on experience + annual full access membership to Albany Barn & Electric City Barn
Schedule: Will vary based on need of organization
Reports to: Executive Director

Summary:
The Events Coordinator will oversee the calendar maintenance and management & implementation of one-off events held by artists and community members at Albany Barn.  The Events Coordinator will also provide support to the Site Director with regard to program development, data collection, administrative tasks, and volunteer recruitment as needed.  The Events Coordinator will primarily work out of Albany Barn, but occasional travel to Electric City Barn in Schenectady will be required.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong connection to the Capital Region Creative Economy & to the mission of Albany Barn Inc.  They will have a passion for collaboration and teamwork, along with exceptional communication, project management, and customer service skills.  Experience in an administrative setting, preferably in the Arts Administration field, is strongly preferred.  A basic understanding of WordPress, as well as email marketing and social media platforms, is a plus.  

Overview of Responsibilities:
Prepare all commercial use agreements for one-off facilities rentals, and ensure proper insurances and permits are in place and appropriate staffing levels are met
-Maintain up-to-date calendar of events and meetings on shared Google calendar and set up calendar invites to key events for resident artists and board/committee members
-Work with event producers to coordinate vendors, set space, and ensure all event rental guidelines are strictly adhered to
-Work with Site Director to maximize utilization of all facilities to achieve mission and financial targets
-Maintain regular communication with customers after their event to encourage repeat business and gather information on site’s performance in order to improve offerings
-Staff on-site and community-based events as needed
-Assist Site Director in implementation of internal programming, including visual art exhibitions and regular spike events
-Lead community outreach to engage new potential event producers and long-term programmatic partnerships
-Other duties as assigned
