Each month, we will feature one of the talented artists that utilize The Barn to shape their work, and share with you their passions, projects, and thoughts on being a part of The Barn.
This month we sat down with Aaron Holbritter, one of the founding members of Creative License, a theater collective that calls The Barn home.

How did you hear about Albany Barn?
As construction was ongoing, The Barn put out a call on Facebook for theater peeps to help advise the best way to put the space together.  I got to explore the unfinished space with Kristen (wearing a hard hat-it was all very exciting).  I had a feeling right then that it was going to be a great space to work in.

How do you utilize the facilities at The Barn?
As a performance space and for rehearsal space.  The Barn is such a unique building that we’re always discovering new and exciting ways to use it.

What’s your favorite thing about working at The Barn?
The collaborative spirit.  It’s been great to work with other artists at The Barn on various projects, and we would really love to keep that going as we move forward with our projects and productions.
What’s next for Creative License?
We have a one-night-only show called Divided that we’re staging at The University Club on New Years Day, which features original short plays penned by local writers.  And we will return to The Barn on February 19th with a production of I am My Own Wife.
You can learn more about Creative License (and purchase tickets for their upcoming production of Divided) by visiting their website.  You can also keep up with them on Facebook and Instagram.
