Albany Chefs' Food & Wine Fest: Wine & Dine for the Arts 2013
Albany Barn is honored to be a beneficiary of the Albany Chefs’ Food & Wine Festival: Wine & Dine for the Arts for the second year running!
On January 17-19, 2013, the City of Albany will host the fourth annual Albany Chefs’ Food & Wine Festival at the Hotel Albany. The 2013 Festival will bring together over 50 Innovative Chefs, 250 Global Wine, Spirit & Craft Beer companies. Festival attendees will savor the finest in culinary offerings, as well as, have the opportunity to attend high profile seminar pairings that will focus this year on healthy, sustainable agriculture. This year’s festival will feature a brand new competition for Albany’s best Barista and appearances by Michelin-starred celebrity chef/author Suvir Saran, as well as the return of the Slider Slam. “The mission of the annual Festival is to provide sustainable funding for the support and preservation of the not-for-profit arts community in Albany, NY”, stated Yono Purnomo, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “In our first three years, we have donated $168,438 to various arts organizations in the City of Albany.”
In addition to Albany Barn, the Albany Chefs’ Food & Wine Festival 2013 will benefit Albany Pro Musica!, Albany Center Gallery, Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Capital Repertory Theatre, Irish American Heritage Museum and Park Playhouse.

Festival Events Schedule
Thursday, January 17th – Mayor Jennings Opening Celebration – the official kick off of the Festival with a reception hosted by Mayor Jennings, the Business Review and Mazzone Hospitality in the Rotunda at Albany City Hall. Tickets $75, $100 after December 1, 2012
Friday, January 18th – Grand Tasting – at the Hotel Albany from 4-8pm – presented by Columbia Development. 50 top chefs and restaurants, and over 250 global wine, spirit and craft beer companies. Rising Star Chef Pavilion presented by timesunion.com will feature 3 of the 6 winners. Tickets $60
Friday January 18th – VIP Reception & Book Signing with Celebrity Chef Suvir Saran – at the Hotel Albany from 7-8:30pm. Tickets $30 with Grand Tasting Ticket, $40 without
Friday January 18th – Slider Slam – at the Hotel Albany from 8-11pm – Slider Competition with 10 restaurants presenting their signature Slider for a panel of judges and for people’s choice, to receive the annual honor of ‘Best Sliders” in the Capital Region. The event will also feature live music. Craft Beer by Brewery Ommegang, Beef by Kilcoyne Farms
Saturday January 19th – Barista Albany – presented by UNIC USA and Chris’ Coffee Service at the Hotel Albany fro 11-12:30pm. Watch the Capital Region’s top Coffee Houses compete in a classic throwdown for Albany’s Best Barista. $5 with Saturday Grand Tasting Ticket, $10 without

Saturday January 19th – Adirondack Appliance Signature Chef Invitational– 6 Chefs compete LIVE in a mystery basket style competition with a panel of judges awarding the winning Chef a coveted spot on the 2014 Signature Chef team. Ticket included in Saturday Grand Tasting Ticket.
Saturday Evening – “Wine & Dine for the Arts Gala” – at the Hotel Albany– Reception presented by CDPHP and dinner presented by WNYT Newschannel 13. A six course culinary masterpiece themed “Medici’s Feast” prepared by the Festival Signature Chefs Yono Purnomo, Jaime Ortiz, Jim Rua, Dale Miller, Brian Molino, Mark Graham, Ric Orlando, AJ Jayapal, Jonathan Crean and Dominique Brialy- paired with premium wines selected and provided by Empire Merchants North – along with live and silent auctions.
