Stage 1

Albany Barn opened Stage 1 in 2010 to provide interactive creative arts programming for the community, establish an active arts presence on North Swan Street and facilitate neighborhood involvement with The Barn/Academy Lofts project. The 2010 “Summer in the City Youth Talent Exhibition” was the first public art show at Stage 1, featuring work by over fifty young people from the City of Albany in a professional gallery environment. Stage 1 is now open to the community five to six days per week and is home to a variety of arts-based programs primarily serving youth.

This brand new 1,700 square foot facility features:

  • durable cork floor for dance
  • dual slop sinks
  • locking storage
  • dual large bathrooms/changing space
  • built-in track spotlighting
  • free WiFi Internet access
  • electricity, hot water, central air and heat included

Stage 1 is available now for studio space, classes, exhibitions, meetings and rehearsals at affordable rates.
